Discipline produces peace

We do not enjoy being disciplined. It is painful at the time, but later, after we have learned from it, we have peace, because we start living in the right way.

God, being self-disciplined can be a challenge—sometimes it’s tiring or painful. Help me identify the aspects of my life where I need better discipline, and encourage me to change for the better. Give me the strength to endure the challenge, and help me to remember Your good promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
