The Word of God

‭Ephesians 6:17 NLT‬

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

God, thank you for giving us your word in Scripture, and for revealing yourself through Jesus, the Word made flesh. I praise You for giving us all we need to stand strong in You. Please give me a deeper love for and understanding of Your Word. Amen.

Shield of Faith

‭Ephesians 6:16 NIV‬

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Father God, help me to hear Your true voice more clearly and be increasingly able to identify lies and half-truths that come my way. I choose to trust what You say about who You are and about who I am. Help me to believe and not doubt Your Word. Amen.

Dressed by the Spirit

‭Ephesians 6:14-15 NLT‬

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

Father God, clothe me today so I am dressed to withstand whatever spiritual and emotional battles come my way. Thank you for Jesus: the way, the truth, and the life. Thank you for allowing us to have peace with You and others through Jesus’ reconciliation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The full armor of God

‭Ephesians 6:13 NLT‬

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

God, thank You that You have given me the armor I need to face evil fearlessly. In Your protective armor, I can stand! You are with me. You strengthen me. Help me to persevere in courage, faith, and prayer. I want to stand firm in Your strength! Amen.

Stand firm

‭Ephesians 6:12 NIV‬

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

God, give me the strength to stand firm against the devil’s tactics. Remind me that my enemies are not the people in front of me. When bad things happen, comfort me and flood my mind with truth. Do not let me forget that I belong to You, and You fight for me. You are in control, and with You—I am safe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Armour of God

‭Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT‬

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

God, You equip us with tools that draw us closer to You and help us stand against schemes created to destroy us. Thank You for Your protection. Thank You for caring for us at all times. Today, help me to intentionally put on all of the armor You freely offer me. Give me the strength to stand firm in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
