KCRG-TV9 reported today that Cedar Rapids Police are on the lookout for information regarding a suspicious van.The Gazette reports the van in question was seen in the 3000 block of 28th Avenue SW last Sunday afternoon around 4:50.Police allegedly received a report saying the van's two male occupants may have been watching a young girl in the area.The van is described as light blue or gray in color, possibly a Chevorlet Astrovan or similar make/model. It's also missing a rear passenger-side window. Anyone with information is urged to call 319-286-5491.

The following is from the contents of an email from the the program director of a local radio station:
On Sunday, 8-19-07, officers responded to 3000 block of 28 Ave SW in reference to a suspicious vehicle. A resident on this street, reported seeing a white Astro style van, pull up in front of his residence and watch his 8 year old daughter play in front of the house. When the driver began to exit the vehicle, he came out of the garage and started yelling for his daughter. The driver got back into the van, turned around and left at a high rate of speed. The passenger was the only person that he could identify as being a white male with silver/white hair. The white van is missing the passenger side window towards the back of the van.
He stated that after he described the van to the officers, his wife reminded him that 3 weeks prior to this, she saw this same van with the missing window in front of their house watching their 8 year old daughter. She too was afraid that the occupants may approach her daughter and called her into the house.
If anyone should see this van, please take down the license plate number and give me at the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
