What If?

August 2007 Newsletter

Hi All,

Each week I get an inspirational email from AllWorship.com. This month I wanted to share one that I received recently. It asks a lot of questions.

What If?

What if GOD couldn't take the time to bless us today because we couldn't take the time to thank Him yesterday?

What if GOD decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn't follow Him today?

What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when GOD sent the Rain?

What if GOD took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?

What if GOD took away His message because we failed to listen to the message?

What if GOD didn't send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?

What if the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if GOD stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?

What if GOD would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him?

What if GOD answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if GOD met our needs the way we give Him our lives?

As I read through all of the what ifs I was reminded of the chorus from a Casting Crowns song:
What if His people prayed
And all who bare His name
Would humbly seek His face
And Turn from their own way
Let's take the time for God and turn to His way and not your own.
There are many things coming up for the youth. Serving the Sunday Evening Meal at 1st Presbyterian Church on August 5th. A baseball game on August 7th. The Fall Retreat in October. Diane and I are looking for to a great year! See you soon.

Because of Him ~ Terry

Hi God,
There are so many what ifs in our lives Lord. Thank you for taking some of those away. We are so thankful that You sent Your Son to save us. We know that we do not deserve it yet You love us so much. Much more than we could ever imagine. Help us to make the most of everyday keeping You in everything that we do. We pray this in Your Son Jesus' precious name, Amen.

"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10 (NIV)
