April 2004

Hello All,
Well, here we are, another month has past and it is nearly Easter. Which reminds me, it is nearly Daylight Savings Time again. Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour on April 4th. Ever wonder why we go through this every year? According to the California Energy Commission's website it is because it saves energy. "Studies done in the 1970s by the U.S. Department of Transportation show that we trim the entire country's electricity usage by about one percent EACH DAY with Daylight Savings Time." And I always thought it was so we could golf later.
With the Easter just around the corner it is important for us to remember that it is not about bunny rabbits and brightly painted eggs that are hidden everywhere one could think of. Rather it is a time for us to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us when he took the burden of our sins and was crucified on the cross so that we could be saved. Saved? What on earth do we need saved for? We need to be saved so that we can join Jesus in Heaven for eternity! The time that we spend on earth is but a short one and everything that we say, do, think, etc. has eternal implications. This makes it very important that we do God's will, but not out of fear. We need to do it out of our love for God and for Jesus. Jesus gave us the example by which we are to live by. Use it, and if you do not understand something, ask someone. Your parents are there to help you as well as the members of the Church. And in all cases always ask yourself one simple question first, What would Jesus do?

In Christian Love,

Terry and Diane

In All Our Doings
Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings, with thy utmost gracious favor, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally, by thy mercy, obtain everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
