Judgement is real

There are so many types of earthly judgement. People are judged for how they look, the color of their skin, how they think, how they talk, what they do, and the list goes on and on. People judge others when they do not even know them. There is so little love and forgiveness.

If someone breaks the law and they are found to be guilty they are judged and then have to pay the consequences. The system is not perfect. People are found guilty that are not. People are found innocent that are not.

The judgement in this world shows imperfect we all are. It causes people to say, do, and be part of some very wrong things. I've been judged in my life for certain things. Yet there are people out, people I know who are constantly being judged and for what? To make someone feel better about themselves? Some think it is fun? Seriously, this is so very wrong. It is a product of a fallen, broken, sinful world.

Does that mean people should give up? Absolutely not. In the eyes of God we are all His children. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that" The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent." Yet God gave us free will to choose. We pray that people will choose Him and live Christ-like lives. We pray for this because:

“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in Him. But anyone who does not believe in Him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. -John 3:18 NLT

True judgement is only meant for those who do not believe in Him. Salvation is a freely given gift. It cannot be earned. We need to leave the baggage of our lives with God. With Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our sins are gone. The judgement for those sins are gone. The consequences for those sins has been paid by the precious blood of Christ.

Because of what God has done for us, we need to extend that same love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace to others.
